I've done a fair bit of reading of the links that I have discovered so far.
One thing that never gets spoken about much is the difference between CAM emulation and CARD emulation. I am guessing that the first is less 'naughty' than the second - but feel free to put me straight.
My 2nd assumption is that a CAM emulation should be pretty *stable* - otherwise TV stations would have to be sending out new CAM modules all the time - no?
The reason for my confusion is that I have a Dragon Cam (2.29) and even though the firmware is slightly old, I am thinking that the cryptoworks CAM emulation should still be working. (I notice it was first mentioned in v2.02 on http://www.dragonmodule.com)
The thing is that we have an official card - Slovak Link - for EuroBird 28.5 - Cryptoworks and I was hoping to use that card with the Dragon Cam.10.05.2004
Predator 202 for Dragon & embedded Cam and Emulator All In One
Emulation .../...
Re-integrated support for original cards, this version does work with:
Seca, Irdeto, Viaccess, Conax, Cryptoworks, Nagra smartcards
Should that be theoretically possible?
The error message I get is 'error decoding card' which it does seem to recognise as Cryptoworks. It could be that I'm having problems because of the receiver - an old Humax F1VACI - which isn't explicitly listed as 'compatible' although it isn't listed as 'not compatible' either.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
