    Help XP 64 install trouble

Im having trouble getting win xp 64 to install on my machine. It gets to the 'installing hardware' stage then then stops sending an signal to the monitor. The hdd light continues to flicker for a few mins after, like its still installing something but the monitor never comes back on.

Im guessing this is something to do with the graphics card not having 64 bit drivers or something. Anyone have a clue?

Dont know if this is possible on installation of win xp 64 but it might be worth trying to create a setup CD which already contains updated drivers for all your hardware as microsoft have advised
Some device drivers might have packaging that says that the driver works on Microsoft® Windows® XP, but it is designed to work only on Windows XP Professional. In this case, the driver does not work on Windows XP 64-Bit Edition.
So basically when you install with this newly created CD it will have support for newer/compatible drivers, or simply for devices which the original win xp 64 cd did not support.

Follow this link for information on how to do this:-

Im no expert but hope this helps in resolving your problem
