Default Advice on Laptop pretty please

Been asked by a freind for a laptop that will be able to do the following.

Run a multitude of Photo Manipulation Software, I presume like Photoshop and perhaps others. It is for a guy at work, he is looking to get into this for his retierment. What worries me is that he cannot check his own e-mail!!

Oh yeah, he would like interent as well. I am assuming all Laptops come with the ability for that kind of thing.

The laptop market confuses me somewhat. I am not ofay with some of the termanology. and the graphic capabilities seem alot less than that you can get on a deskptop (for obvious reasons).

Can someone point me in the right direction of perhsp three different solutions ranging from medium, to doggs danglies.

Thank you for you help. Cheers.....Q

Theres a site where you can gather information an make comparisons within any electronic device (of course including laptops):

Thanks for this, it is not really comaprison i am looking for as i am not sure what (in terms of laptop power) I need in the first place.

To put it crudly would i only need to look at the graphics power. Or are there other facotrs to take into account.

I was going to reconmend a few higher end laptops fom more established trusted sources.

    Cheers.....Q

    IBM ThinkPad T43
    ATI Mobility FireGL V3200, 128MB (DDR2), 2048x1536
    Intel Pentium M Processor 770 2.10GHz

With the bells and whistles, will cost you a lot.

I have a friend who works as a graphics designer, and he swear by the Apple PowerBook G4.
“If I asked you to have sex with me, would the answer to that question be the same as the answer to this question?”
