help with nokia pc suite

hi guys

been trying to look for some answers for my problem but have found none so here it is for all to ponder over and maybe help me ,

ive been trying to install nokia pc suite on my laptop which has windows xp (sp2)
so i follow the instructions and chose the one for xp it installs after i accept the agreement ,but it seems right at the end it gives me a error message saying

error 1935

then it rolls back and i get this message

error 1603

consult windows installer help (msi.chm) or msdn

can any one help me its got my head hurting been on 6 hours with it

Hi,

are you logged in as admin?
which version of NPC Suite are you trying to install? try this version http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,54690,00.html
Check this folder C:\Windows\inf if you have any files that are 0kb in size, delete them and reboot.
Are you able to install anything else? e.g. could there be an issue with the Windows Installer?

thanks for all the info ive tried it all but still no joy
one thing that puzzles me is that it says one of the possible causes is some of the settings on the drive im trying to install to .
to change these microsoft says chose the drive which is C then click properties then secrurity but when i click properties on my hard drive there is no secrurity option cananyone confirm this or is there something really wrong with my system.??????

Maybe if that's a company system, the admin has denied this service.

You can test this, not sure if it works for the whole drive though.

To reveal the Security tab, open Windows Explorer, and choose Folder Options from the Tools menu. On the View tab, scroll to the bottom of the Advanced Settings and clear (click) the check box next to "Use Simple File Sharing." Click OK to apply the change, and you should now have a Security tab when viewing the properties of a file on an NTFS volume.

Alos check for possible restrictions, if you are not the admin here
Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools > Local Security Policies

hi thanks for help but am i doing write
my computer>c drive>windows>tool>folder options>view>then i scroll down and have a look at the advanced settings but there is no use simple file sharing option ??
