dawson and reid join spurs in £8 million deal
both very good players and worth the £8 million in my humble opinion, especially reid who without a doubt will become one of irelands greatest players

I'm a season ticket holder at Forest, and can say without a doubt that both these players will go on to be class acts. Reid is immense, great passer, dribbler, crosser and finisher. Dawson is fantastic in the air and great in the tackle. He's also a great passer which is quite rare in centre backs! Your completely right, will prove to be a great buy for Spurs.
Slightly concerned that we have bought another left sided player... we already have Atouba and Ziegler who can play there but are lacking on the right with only Davies (if fit) and Marney.
But happy to see Davenport at the club. With Gardiner playing lame and Naybet always lame, he should get a game quite quick I hope!
Thought there might have been a another sneek buy before tomorrow but there is still 2 hours to go :thumbs

Lol, you've already got Davenport mate, its Michael Dawson youve signed off us!!Originally Posted by Shotgunjim
Reid can play on the right side as well so maybe Jol may decide to play him there. His crossing his really good though but if he plays on the right he may be forced to cut inside more. Either way, hes a quality buy
:| Well either way, they are both better than Naybet and Gardiner!Originally Posted by MikeyJ25

I wanna know how come forest always manage to get decent money for their players, often rediculous amounts. We sell our talent for peanuts
For the record, from what i've seen of Dawson, I think hes VERY overrated. I dont see him every week however
Lol, good point. Think it s cos our talents are youngsters, whilst yours are pensioners like Dion DublinOriginally Posted by foxy11
A few people say that about Dawson...I remember when John Terry came on loan once to Forest, we could tell he was going to be a genuinely great player. Although its hard to say how Dawson will compare i think he is in the same kind of mould. Great in the air, strong, reads the game well and is a good passer
Although i'm just assuming your a Leicester fan from your name 'foxy'....Just read another post and realised your a sheff utd fan. Thats even worse! But you do have some quality youngsters. Tonge and Jagielka must surely be ready for the premOriginally Posted by MikeyJ25
Spurs dont half splash the cash gambles surely but i hope they work out cos this league needs a good spurs.

£4.5m turned down for Simon Davies. Seemed a generous offer to me :nowords:

Might be a gentlemens agreement to let him go to you in the summer.... although Arteta is a good signing for you...

I truthfully would rate Jags a lot more than Dawson, he's so versatile, has played in virtually every position, including nearly a full match in the net against Millwall. He really is a class act. Had put on weight over summer and was looking a bit dodgy at the start of the season, but he's back to normal now.
I know it sounds strange, but I think our whole team would fare better in the premier than in the championship, despite the usual stereotype placed upon us, we like to play fast, passing football and we just dont seem to be able to create the space against championship teams that put 11 men behind the ball.
Our recent record against premiership teams (cup runs etc) shows that I may be right .
Last word on Jags, the last time we played Arsenal in the cup (and were cheated out of it by graham poll), Wenger brought Henry on to try and finish the game off. Jags proceded to keep him in his pocket, and at one stage outrun him to put in a quality last ditch tackle. He did absolutely nothing against him.
Yeh i rate Jagielka highly. In the playoff second leg at bramall lane i remember he had a blinder. Still think Dawson is a better player though, he got into the england training squad 2 seasons ago. I reckon another good season and jagielka must surely go to the prem where he deserves to play.
Shame the game at the city ground on 12th has been postponed, i was lookin forward to that!
£8m spent, Tom Huddlestone on the way and getting humped 3-1 by Bolton. Things are deffo looking up!!!!Originally Posted by Shotgunjim
Shocking refereeing again cost us... although Kanoute tackle was stupid. 3 big home games now where we need to pick it up again....Originally Posted by Tattooed Freak
Expect to see Ried play on saturday and I hope Dawson in place of Gardiner who is $hit. :grr:
