    heya mate,

I use it for a lot of things online and have never had a problem wih it. I think i've been using it for about 2 or so years, in that time i've only ever had good experiences with it.

My main pproblems with paypal are the fees (especially once you become verfied for accepting payments, they can take a fairly large chunk off the money you were expecting. If you compensate for i then it's a bit better.

with all the protection they have i'd say it's not that paypal is unsafe or a bad service it's just a lot of people will be using it and not fully understanding what's going on, this then makes them do stupid things and lose out becase of it. if you keep your password long enough and dont send cash 2 dodgy people i'm sure you'll be fine
    I'm new to this

I used it as a business seller for around 3 years, then closed my account more recently, it costs a fourtune to use and the main reason I closed was due to the ethics of paypay and how easy it is for people to do reversals etc and lose money and get stuck trying to get it back.. Its good if you just want to pay for things..I wouldnt use it again to take payments tho..

nochex is much better, i wish we could use that everytime.

but with internet banking it's about as easy to just log in and send the money through that, and it's free too...

If for paying out, then fne as long as you pay trusted people. It's a pain in the arse though for receiving as they take a lot of comission if you are verified business member etc (which you have to be in order to take credit card!). Peopel can also do reversal very easy, which means you can get the payment, send off the otem and then a week later, have the cunt "reverse the payment" in which case paypal just take it from your account, give it em back and you are left with no money and minus an item! Always make sure you use recirded delivery for proof!

cant u just withdraw the funds? or do they just reverse it off your bank card?

I guess with paypal you just have to be aware of suspicious people, bastard scamers!

    agreed on suspicious people...

and on a subject slightly different, i would like shangrula to cast minds back to the OHP incidents in previous posts. So sorry to bring it up.. but i couldnt send you a private message as i dont have the authority. hmmm..

There is a 5000 lumens OHP (EIKI 4410H OHP) projector going on ebay for £30 (its over in a few hours)... would you advise i get it??

mulchninja@hotmail.com OR i will be checking back within the hour.
APOLOGIES TO FORUM... I COULDNT TRACK shangrula DOWN TOA SK PERSONALLY and FEARED THAT THE OLD THREAD WOULDNT BE CHECKED UNTIL OHP HAD SOLD!

hmmm... but to remain in context (having read the posts now!), paypal have never given me any worries as a BUYER... but i have yet to enter the SELLING arena... as shangrula says, I think its a different and perhaps pricier way to want to deal... HOWEVER, they ARE as professional as it gets online...

... knowing the ins and outs of the service will undoubtedly help ...

I use it. Have done for a while . Its been ok for me.
The only thing, which others have already said, is the fees they charge. Otherwise, it is a good service.

Even if you withdraw the funds, they take it from your paypal account so it goes into negative balance It is then useless as you cannot receive anything to withdraw until it has been paid. If you don't pay, then they get their fraud team to investigate it.

I ain;t had any horror stories either,

Paid stuff via it and had no probs.............the fees I found a wee but excessive as well.

As you said yo are only paying oot, so I would say it would be good for you, as a lot of people have access to a Paypal account

I hate it!!! it`s o.k if you want to buy anything,, BUT there will come a time when you will want to use it for recieving payments and when that happens and if anything(acording to Paycrap) looks a little bit out of the norm(and i meen anything) they will limit your account which will lock any credit you have!! They will then ask you to fax all kinds of things to them inc!! Passport, drivers licence, copies of bank and credit card statements, reciepts for goods sold e.tc.e.tc And then they will still say thats not enough and you will have to wait 6 months before you can get your money back!!!
Used Nochex with out any problems at all,, wish every1 would convert to Nochex. :grr:
