    Info "Anti Spyware/ Anti Adware"

I posted something like this way back..but it doesn't hurt to keep up to date..

I see a lot of different "Anti Spyware/ Anti Adware" applications but some of the applications posted here that are NOT WHAT THEY CLAIM TO BE.
Several lately that are being posted install more adware and spyware than they even remove.

I suggest ANYTIME you are trying to make a decision on whether to try a new one you go to this site and check on it. You might just go there now and look at the list, you may be surprised at what you find.

    The actual homepage is:

The amount of information at this site on this subject is really amazing and it will probably surprise you at just how many of these things are really not what they claim to be.

    cheers

    Very good point.

I only use Lavasoft Ad-ware & Spybot Search and Destroy and between them they seem to pick up everything.

Spybot has an immunise function on it too to block attacks which is invaluable.

Has any tried the Microsoft Spyware program. I have just tried to download the beta version of it but it seems that MS are using it as a way to harvest data and validate your Windows - surely they should give it out indescriminately as it their holes that cause most of the problem.

BTW:- My internet access has been a dream since I started using Mozilla Firefox, I'd recommend it to anyone.

I use Webroot's SpySweeper & Spybot and seem to be trouble free..just trialling Bitdefender Antivirus (which has built in firewall) and Outpost..M*croSoft's software is based on Giant's Antispyware program i think, which worked well..so download that if u want to try it..

    cheers

You can D/L the MS Antispyware OK, on the second page tell it to ignore the validation check.
