Default Windows XP 64bit - Is it worth it??

Gonna be putting my new system together tonight and I am not sure if I want to put the 64bit version on. It puts me off that its not the final version and that its limited to 360 days.

To anyone who has tried it, is it noticeably different? Also will I have problems finding drivers etc for it?

    Cheers

Have you tried any previous versions of Windows before they were releaased as that may give you an idea as to whether to try this one or not. I did windows ME and was only impressed by the fact that M$ didn't take the money out of my account for it as the beta was a load of dross. If I was running a 64bit architecture I would be all over it like a cheap suit just to get an idea of how good it was.

I was considering getting it, but did some reading, and like all MS os's it is about as stable as a pensioner on rolerskates.

Will be interesting how good it is when it is actually a finished product (service pack 6 or something ).

One box right here running Win 2K server for the last 4 years & more without any hiccups at all.
The kids XP box at home has also survived 2 years without any problems either.

Nah mine is on a quarterly rebuild cycle though the last build of the beast was June last year. It is in need of a rebuild now but I cannot be arsed doing it as the only thing wrong with it is that portable drives, be they my 80Gb portable HD or a USB key, cause a blue screen and a reboot. This is either in a hub or in any of the onboard USB2 ports.

Who cares, u can download it for free from M$ takes less than an hour. Plus I got it and its faster than 32bit, but be warned not everything works on 64bit.
