The sad thing is that something, probably a lot of somethings, made it necessary for them to do this. :| Nice one for bringing it to our attention Shambles.

I used to work on helpdesk support for Toshiba (and quite a few other companies) many moons ago, and you would be surprised at just how many calls we used to take with regard to the "any key".

That particular support page at Compaq has been there for years.

I can't blame them, it's a real worry the amount of times I have had a user on the phone going 'I can't find the any key'
Almost as bad as:

Me: Minimize all open applications

User: How do you mean?

Me: At the top right of all open windows there should be a box with a horizontal line in it, click this and the window should minimize.

User: Oh I get you now, ok I have done that

Me: Can you see the clouds on your desktop?

User: No, my blinds are closed

Me: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That was a solicitor, funnily enough.
