This is my girlfriend's project.

I'd like help with ideas on how to make it more obvious what the company is all about, (ie inclusive theatre)

It seems to be used most by parents who are looking for opportunities for their disabled kids, as a prospectus for the educational work the company does, and for other information on disabled arts.

At some point I have to make the site accessible (I'm not looking forward to this)
I think I might add a "project finder" map to show the geographical location of different classes.

the accessibility stuff won't be too hard. Main things such as ALT tags for images and description tags for elements will be pretty easy. Software such as dreamweaver arereally useful for accessability, if you don't use it already

you seem to have theived microsofts picture folder icon thingie, might want to untheive that cos they might not be too happy

i'm pretty sure DW has a tool for checking accessability, links, cross browser compatability and other things. It also doesnt add (much) crap to your pages, and as long as you're not doing anythign too experimental most pages can fly through the w3c checker (it has a MS Word style underline for code that it suspects as dodgy too, which is always really helpful)

if you don't have it i'd recommend getting the trial off the macromedia website and seeing how you like it. I used to use frontpage and as soon as I got on DW I never looked back, the only thing I don't like about it is the integrated FTP stuff, it's really slow, but apart from that it's a really powerful tool

DW is preety good for checking accessibility.

As a step towards accessibility, i would recommend replacing the three button images at the top (green, blue and red) with standard text in a coloured box, as they look pixelated at certain resolutions, and the text they contain cannot be read by a text browser. As Twoplanks pointed out, using a microsoft icon on your site is a bad idea unless you have permission.

I like the picture gallery idea, and the site is informative and interesting.

I think it needs a more detailed Index on each page if it's aimed at parents etc., so that people can quickly move between specific sections of the site.

Also having a fixed site width of 600px means that some pages are very long, and require much scrolling which shouldnt be neccesary on a high res monitor. It may be possible to use percentage width, say 75%?

when i make copyright messages i normally put in a bit of php that displays the current year to avoid that

thanks for the DW info, I abandoned it ages ago because it used to reformat my code. I'll give it another go.

thanks for the feedback, which browser are you using?

I checked this on IE5.01, IE5.5 and IE6. All looked like the pic i posted. Worked fine in Firefox and Opera.
