Help removing radio from car

Hi Guys,

I couldn't see where else I should put this so I placed it in here.

I got a new car rece***y and am looking to replace the radio with one I have at home. The car is fitted with a Sony CDX5060. For the life in me I cannot work out how to remove the bloody thing from the car!! Can anyone help. It does not appear to have any holes in it where I can stick some keys and it won't pull out so I am assuming that it is locked in somehow.

Does anyone have one of these and know how to get it out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a sony headunit and it comes with two "keys" that slot down either side of the unit and then hook onto the radio to pull it back out - think they somehow "unlock" something to do it...

Is it a new new car or second hand - Thinking about it to get they keys in you first have to remove a black plastic surround to the front "plate"

Hi Peeps,

I have now got the stereo out.

It was fitted into a mk2 Golf GTI.

The reason that I couldn't get the thing out is because it was stuck fast. No keys were needed. Nearly ripped the whole front off the car getting it out but now I have it out and no damage done!!
