Leeds is the burglary capital of Britain, according to a leading insurer.

Endsleigh Insurance has found that the number of claims for household thefts in Leeds is 99 per cent above the national average.

Hull and Nottingham followed with 84 per cent and 72 per cent respectively.

According to the study, Edinburgh residents are least likely to suffer from burglary.

There were over 56 per cent less claims in the city than the national average. Following closely behind are Cardiff and Swindon on 47 per cent and just over 46 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, Plymouth is the most accident prone city in the UK, with 45 per cent more claims made for accidental damage than the national average.

And Ipswich residents are also rather prone to mishaps with almost 24 per cent more likely to claim, placing them second.

Swansea came third, it more accident-prone than its Welsh neighbour Cardiff, which came in tenth.

Londoners are also amongst the least accident-prone people in the country, coming fifth in the league table.

Liverpool is the only city I've been to where the scallies drag you from the dance floor at knife point, rob you of your jewelry, then send you back to yer m8's with yer arse hanging out. Happened to 2 of my m8's when we used to go to Quadrant Park back in the early 90's.

Was pretty shocking at the time, we still went every week though, it was worth the risk.

Also, they had a scam going where they sent good looking birds up to lads asking if they could change a fiver for coins, don't wanna say how many of us got stung by that one when we were off it. :|

Remember it well. Quadrant Park was a nightmare for thievery. Didn't stop me having many a good night there though! :coffee: The worse one I saw was a mate of mine skinning up on the last night of the Sett End in Blackburn and was asked by a guy pointing a gun at him for what he had just built!! The mood we were in if he had asked he would have gort it without the gun. Peace and Harmony!!

Stoke and Leeds are the only 2 places where me or my housemates have encountered a burglar at the front door :annoyed:
