    Default Healthy Snack

Hi, I've been training for a while now. Just got back into it after a 6 month break. Also just started a new job which involves working night shift...the problem is that I always seem to snack on chocolates and other unhealthy foods.

Has anyone got any ideas of a good snack? Something that will keep me filled throughout my 12 hour shift but also wont pile on the pounds.

    Any help is appreciated...

    Cheers.

IMO you can't go wrong with tuna and pasta, with pepper

takes seconds to make a big pile before you go to work and can snack on it all night.

Big is not always better.... Take Fat people for example.

    Thanks all.

Tommy, I like the idea of the Chunky Fruit bar....really convienient. But i did some digging around on the net and found thats its nutritional content doenst seem to be that great.

    Per 45g bar

    Energy Carbohydrate
    668kJ 31.2g
    158kcal

    Fat Protein
    2.9g 1.8g

Although it does have loads of minerals and vitamins.

Normally when I get a bit peckish I eat a KitKat (i know thats bad). But the Weetabix bar doesnt seem that much healthier than a KitKat.

    per 26g bar

    Energy 599kJ Protein 1.8g
    143kcal

    Carbohydrate 16.9g Fat 7.6g
of which sugars 14g of which saturates 5.2g

The Weetabix bars calorie intake is higher than the KitKat but the Carb level in the KitKat is throught the roof. As someone trying to lose weight, what should I be more concerned with? Calories or Carbohydrates?

Yeah, get some canned tuna (sunflower oil) and maybe some plain yogurt, low in fat and fills you up nicely. Add salad if your up for it.
