    Question Anybody got a pool table?

    Not sure if this is in the right forum or not but here goes anyway,

    I'm thinking about getting a pool table, but the room I have spare is only 12ft X 11 ft (3.7 X 3.4 meters). Does anyone have a pool table and will this room be too small?
    Also how high are pool tables?, because this room has another room leading off, open plan but 3ft higher (yeah its a strange extension)
    If nature always takes the easiest route, what's easier...?
    The creation of billions of galaxies each containing trillions of stars each with their own solar systems, some with planets that have evolved civilisations with billions of different life forms. OR The creation of just your imagination?

    No idea about sizes mate, but make sure to leave enough room for a bar

    Oh, and get some short cues

    I have just bought a 6 foot pub pool table. Here are the room size requirements.

    Room size for pool tables

    A defines the needed area required for a 48" cue stick
    B defines the needed area required for a 52" cue stick
    C defines the needed area required for a 57" or standard size cue stick

    3' x 6' Table * Standard Pub Pool Table
    (Playing area: 32"x 64")

    A = 11' x 13.5' B = 11.5' x 14' C = 12.5' x 15'

    3.5' x 7' Table
    (Playing area: 38"x 76")

    A = 11.5' x 14.5' B = 12' x 15' C = 13' x 16'

    4' x 8' Table
    (Playing area: 44"x 88")

    A = 12' x 15.5' B = 12.5' x 16' C = 13.5' x 17'

    4' x 8' Professional Table
    (Playing area: 46"x 92")

    A = 12' x 16' B = 12.5' x 16.5' C = 12.5' x 17.5'

    4.5' x 9' Table
    (Playing area: 50"x 100")

    A = 12.5' x 16.5' B = 13' x 17' 14' x 18'

    How high should my lamp hang over my table?

    The bottom edge of the lamp shade should hang 31" off the pool table's playing surface.

    Hope this helps.

    Dont want a one that folds away, want a nice solid one...
    We have plenty of rooms so leaving it setup is not a problem as it wont be in the way of anything...

    ive got a pool table in my house and can tell you its fantastic

    it causes fights between family and friends
    the kids are now banned from the pool room due to violent behaviour with the balls / cues
    the dog steals the balls and hides them in the garden
    but on the positive note its just the correct height to bend the wife over and give her a good seeing too........................................told you it was fantastic :thumbs

    and before anybody starts its a pool table so no easy pink or tight brown jokes ....thats snooker you idiots

    I went to the Ideal Home Show on Saturday and there was a huge stand which sold Pool and snooker tables.

    This was fantastic as the tables were in fact normal dining room tables which flip to reveal a pool table.

    So to answer your question.... under your dining table:thumbs
