damaged gx20

i have a sharp gx20 which was sent for repair, it was returned saying beyond economical repair and enclosed was a picture saying pad on pin 1 lifted. any ideas if its possible to repair and what kind of price cheers

ok you should have introduced yourself first but as I am still very happy from my promotion to moderator I will help you as long as you get yourself straight over to the introduction section and introduce yourself

If its just the leg thats lifted then its not a problem a simple repair with a soldering iron and a steady hand

if its the pad then there could be a bypass link that can be soldered

any chance you could scan the pic and post it here and i'll see if its repairable

Is the phone powering on fine ?, cause thats just the charger pins, the only effect that would have on the phone is data transfer and charging

its probably just the leg lifted as its very very rare the pad lift there

yeah basically the phone wouldnt charge up so once it lost its power i never used it again - sent it to be repaired when they said "beyond economical repair". i got the phone in december and this happened 6 weeks later

u got 2 options

get the phone resoldered or buy a desktop charger

ok thanks for that, i will try a desktop charger, seen some cheap ones on ebay must be worth a go for the sake of a couple of pounds. many thanks for your help and advice
