Sky Software Upgrade...

If you are like me and you do not yet have the latest Sly Upgrade, you can recieve it immediately by following the steps below:

1.

Turn your Sly Box off at the mains

2.

Wait a few seconds before plugging sly back in

3.

Before plugging sly back in, hold down the 'Back-Up' Button on your sly digibox (Not on the remote)

4.

Now plug sly back in, while still holding the back-up button

5.

Keep the Back-up button pressed in until you see all the lights on your digibox turn on. If you have connect sly upto your TV using SCART, you will get a black message on the screen telling you the upgrade will take upto 10 minutes!

If you are not connected by SCART, then you may not get a message on the screen! In this case, just watch the lights on your digibox until they all go off except the standby light.

Once they have gone off, you may not turn your sly digibox back on using your usual method (By the remote or power button on the digibox)

6.

Thats it!

Your upgrade should be complete!

Warning...

Ive been told that if you signal strength is weak, it can damage your box! My signal is below the halfway mark and it seemed to work just fine on my box!

Just a little warning i thought i should let you know!

potentially, I'm guessing you have a sky+ box in which case you should already have the update.

trying to force an update on any other box could leave your box f*cked, the update isn't available for other boxes so it's pointless trying to update.

I've got more testing next week, so I should get an updated list next week when I get my reports back

Does the box still need to be connected to the phone line for the update to activate or does it get the update signal from the dish?

Its comes straight from the dish m8!

I got updated last week! I have a standard sky pace box (Its about 5 years old!) - The update works fine on my box! The channels seem to change faster aswell!

The interactive functions is not much help though, as it don't realy make that much of a difference! The Interactive banner still comes up on all adverts!

But everything else seems to be fine!

there have been a few more boxes this week

the stuff will come up again as its a new event, it's a different event to the one at the start of the program for instance

I have 2 digi boxes. A Pace and a Grundig.

My PACE seems to have upgraded automatically however my Grundig is still on EPG 3.2.11.

I tried a forced update on the Grundig and the screen did say thats its updating and will take approcimately 10 minutes however after that the EPG remained 3.2.11

Any way I can find out when the Grundigs are going to receive the updates ?

Called up Sky and they said JUST WAIT !!
