    Default subscribing query

I already have a digibox and dish.
the dish because I was a subscriber to sky digi over 2 years ago.
the box because I bought it from ebay (wife sold my original one when we split up :grr: )

now I have been thinking about subscribing to the family package but I dont really need a new box. but it seems daft to turn it down if its free and I wouldnt get a discount on my package for having my own box would i ?

I just didnt want the hassle of another engineer visit to fit (replace) a perfectly working dish and cable run. I'm never in and dont want to take time off work just so an engineer can do unnecessary work.

I take it I'm right in thinking they wont just send me a digibox if I subscribe since I have the rest of the setup working fine ?

I know it sounds like I just want another digibox but I dont see the point in not having it if I'm subsidising it by subscribing anyway.
same as mobile phone deals, why take out just a contract when you can get a free phone at the same time even if you dont use it.
its just handy to keep for a rainy day just in case my own box fails

    Default Re: subscribing query

If you get the deal with a new box, you will have to keep it connected to the phone line for a minimum of 12 months, and the hassle of having a sky engineer to come out and setup your box!

If you just use your original box, all you'll need to do is phone sky up, and give them your digibox number and your payment details and you should have a new card sent out within 5 days! Or if you already have a card, they could have the card turned on within 4 - 24 hours!

The only advantage of getting a new box would be having free 12 month warranty if somthing should go wrong, and a brand new box should last quite a while!

If you are intrested in getting a new box, i would go for the new Sky +!
