    Newbie Satellites In The UK!

    Hi, im a total newbie when it comes to this!

    Could somone give me some information on what satellites i can aim for in the UK and what types of channels i could watch!

    Also, what hardware would i need? I was thinking of the new dreambox 700, but what dish would i need?

    hotbird(13e) and astra 1 ( 19.2e) are easy to get with a minidish in most parts of the UK

    www.lyngsat.com is a useful site with satellites and footprints (i think)

    I wouldn't say that Hotbird at 13e is at all easy to get with a minidish

    get ya self an 80cm dish, the bigger the better though. A good .3db lnb is also recommended

    then u can also have astra2 on 28E and eutelsat on 16E with a 80cm dish in most of the UK.
