After changing our fleet of 206's for Skoda fabias here's my 'first glance' findings.
Skoda Fabia 1.2 Ambience 5dr
As standard these come with power steering, remote central locking, remote fuel release, electric front windows, electric door mirrors, air conditioning and a fuel computer.
On first drive you find how much of impression vw have made to these cars, the drive is excellent and solid, the trim level is good and the ride is first class.
The seats are nice and firm with loads of room, the boot isn't massive but its enough.
On the fuel computer the one I used is registering as doing an average of 38mpg, but this is hard driving, on a run you should do far better.
The engine with it been a 3 cylinder is a bit revvy, but nothing near as bad as the Vauxhall 3 cylinder effort. Its miles better indeed, quite nippy, not fast, but ok for what it was built for.
I took miss urbsy out in one and she thought it was excellent, when I told her it was a Skoda she ducked down and hid so no one saw her!. The stigma is the same, the car is not!
All in all after a weeks ownership I'm well impressed with these little cars, I will further my findings once they have a few more miles on their backs and will post any problems I find along the way.
