Halo 2 Xbox Live Update on Monday

For any Halo fans that don't know, Bungie will be releasing the halo 2 patch this Monday.

It primarily addresses the Standby issue and will make it much tougher to cheat. Unexpectidly, the new patch will also tweak some of the weapons\melee mechanics.

Jumping melee attacks will now kill an opponent outright, grendades will now be as potent as they used to be in Halo 1, the covenant plasma has been tweaked to be less powerfull and single weilding will be more effective against dual weilding etc.

The overall effect will be that the game will now play more like the designers wanted so that it plays more like halo\halo CE in that last ditch kills with grenades\melee attacks will be more satisfying.

Personally I welcome the changes, Halo 2 is a cool multiplayer game, but i still wanted the gameplay mechanics to play more like Halo 1.

i downloaded the update at 9am monday morning.

kept checking for it but it wasn't there.

the way i got it was to have a guest online with me.

still hasn't stopped cheating though, all its done is cause a lot of lag

I picked up the patch yesterday and have nothing but praise for it.

i will try a game later to see if i get cheated on.

it does seem better with weapons but like i said there is loads of lag, which bungie did say will happen for a week or so.

just been on my dashboard for xbox live and there was this message

"Four new Halo 2 muiltiplayer are available - two for free, two to buy! From massive team battles to intimate skirmish zones, each one is hugely different"
