    Question TFT Cleaning

Just brought me a TFT monitor and was just wondering what peeps use to clean theirs, as ive heard that some cleaners can damage it or leave smeers. Are actual screen wipes better as you dont have to spray anything directly onto the tissue or screen?

Oh and this isnt a joke thread, I just come across

    http://www.clean-your-screen-for-free-now.com/

    whilst looking for screen wipes.

Any product opinions appreciated - cheers guys

I use baby wipes! Not the cheap ones as some of these can smear, I also use these on my bike helmet to clear the flys and crap off.

Not generally, some CRT screen wipes can damage the TFT screen surface.

Isopropyl alcohol, buy it at your loal chemist It's best if your'e known by them and don't look like you just dropped in from the local crack lab but this is what they sell in tiny bottles with a bit of blue die in and call tape head cleaner!! I buy it in half litre bottles and it lasts for years, great for cleaning all sorts of stuff. use a clean, VERY soft cloth and of course don't go at it like it's your oven!

Just about TFT screen wipes on TFTs, I do use them but find they tend to leave scarmy type marks on the screen, not very good, maybe soft cotton with one of the above is the way to go.

Why do they not put a glass front on them, anyone know?

    Mr Muscle Glass cleaner.

Doesn't require any pressure to be placed on the screen, and dries "smear free".

I scrape mine with a razor blade first then scratch off any hard chunks with a stanley knife, be careful around the edges though it seems a little more fragile there, im on my 4th screen already... oops clumsy hands.
