    Help PS7 replicating images GURU required

    Well the simplest things usually defeat me.. this is no exception.

    My task is to take a 5x3 photo and place it twice in a 8x11 canvas in such a way as to print both pics on one page in one pass of the printer.

    In the past I've done this:

    * open the jpeg
    * click image | resize canvas and set it to 8x11, and then anchor the image to the top left hand corner
    * print the page
    * reinsert paper upside down and reprint.

    I've messed with layers, duplication and other esoteric stuff and it neither means a sausage to me or it doesn't do what I want. I'm sure there must be a copy/paste function but I can't find it.

    A quick guide anyone? I can't be arsed shuffling through eleventy billion google hits

    Ok try this.

    1. Select File>New... and create a new document 8x11 with the same resolution as the image you're printing.

    2. Open the image you want to print.

    3. Press CTRL+A to select the entire image, then whilst holding down CTRL drag it to the new 8x11 document.

    4. Press CTRL+J to duplicate the layer.

    5. Select the move tool (or press V) and arrange the layers how you want.

    6. Flatten and print.

    Nice. That's worked a treat. I can get 4 of the buggers on the page now!

    Didn't bother with the "flatten" business. Why would I need to do that?

    Thx for that neat succinct workshop slarti mate.

    Glad it helped.

    The flatten part isn't really necessary, it's just a step I normally finish with to reduce the finished file size. Large images with multiple layers start to get into the 100's of MB's so it all starts to crawl on my computer.
