Cannabis: Controversial
VIDEO: Tougher Penalties
'SKUNK' CANNABIS DEBATE
Drug experts are set to begin debating whether super-strong varieties of cannabis should carry tougher penalties for possession.
The Home Secretary has asked a special advisory committee to consider re-classifying so-called Skunk cannabis.
There are fears its use increases the risk of mental illness among young people.
According to the Department of Health, in 2003 some 13% of all 11 to 15-year-olds admitted using the drug.
Among 16 to 24-year-olds, that figure rose to around 26%.
And the accessability of cannabis was high - with 56% of 15-year-olds saying they had been offered the drug.
The strength of cannabis depends on the levels of a chemical called THC.
In normal herbal cannabis THC makes up about two to four per cent.
In varieties classified as skunk this rises to 10-14%.
Higher levels are reached using intense indoor growing techniques in special nutrient rich liquids.

you know what? i love my spliffs. but why do i feel the need to say...i think it should be "class A"
maybe because a teenager in merseyside killed a mother and daughter in a head on. then asked "where's the spliff" or words to that effect, when pulled from his car. he was stoned.
if it can't be policed? it shouldn't be allowed.
just kids trying to be cool..

Do you have a link to this or anything mate? Should alcohol be class A then under jimbob's logic?maybe because a teenager in merseyside killed a mother and daughter in a head on. then asked "where's the spliff" or words to that effect, when pulled from his car. he was stoned.
