    Question Windows XP Display Annoyances

Couple things that my pc has started doing recently...

    1. if i leave the pc for 5/10 mins it goes to a login like screen, saying my name and how many programs i got running and have to click it to resume working away...

    2. When my pc boots, it asks me to click my username to login, it never used to do this...used to just boot to desktop.

any ideas how to stop these annoyances?

    Thx

Info Re: Windows XP Display Annoyances

Hey Sparky, been scratching my head on this 1 for a while and realised that there is a setting in control panel to make a user login without having to press anything.

goto control panel - User Accounts.
uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer" box, you will then be asked to enter a user name and password for the account you wish to be logged on automatically.
    click ok and reboot.

Hey presto it should go to the desktop with no problems.

As for your other problem, i think it might be a power management issue, i'll get back to you on that one.

    Dezt.

Tweak UI in powertoys has an option to auto logon to a specific account aswell, but if the above works I wouldnt bother..
If nature always takes the easiest route, what's easier...?
The creation of billions of galaxies each containing trillions of stars each with their own solar systems, some with planets that have evolved civilisations with billions of different life forms. OR The creation of just your imagination?

The returning to login screen = You have a screensaver set with the option "on resume password protect" ticked. Untick it.
