    Default Partition Software

What software would you recommend for partitioning hdds ? I use to run Partition Magic 7 ages ago which use to be fine but i've lost it now . i've just tried Partition Magic 8 and its donkey's balls

I've had nothing but trouble with it since i've installed it, I cant even get it to start.. not to mention theres no uninstaller for it in my add/remove programs or program files :annoyed:

I'm not sure if this as anything to do with Symantec buying Powerquest out but it use to be fine until they go there grubby little hands on it

Im currently running XP Home Edition with SP2

I have and use PM8 without problems. Sure there's no "uninstall" in the program group but add/remove in controlpanel has an icon for it. You need a fresh copy mate?

Because it's wank! It doesn't work properly with SATA drives.

I have used PM8 without a problem since near on it's release... You must have a dodgy copy of some serious conflicts going on under the hood... :|

what are you doing , partitioning a new hd or adding a partition to a disk that is already in use ? if its a new one then see if the hd manufacturer has their own s/w , eg maxtor have a program called maxblast to do it
