Hello,
This might sound like a particularly dim-witted question, but I really have tried everything I can think of. A friend has a Sony Vaio PCG-FR295MP laptop, running Windows XP Pro (NB - nothing to do with the computer described in my sig!). I'm not sure of the soundcard but Windows identifies the mixer device/drivers as Realtek AC97 Audio.
She says the sound used to work on it, but she changed a setting somewhere (no idea where) and now there is no sound at all. The laptop has no volume dial or button - you press Fn+F4+left/right to alter the volume (which is now on full). I have checked it is not on mute. Also put the Windows volume controls up to full.
Any ideas why there is still no sound coming out? I'm sure it's something stupidly obvious but I can't think what!
Thanks for any help!
