    Default Diego Fookin Forlan

couldnt hit a cows arse with a banjo at united for 2 seasons then moves to villreal and becomes the highest league scorer in europe

£10 says we get villareal in the playoffs and he knocks us out

Well thats Fergies judgement for you.Used to get a few minutes here and there and maybe couple of games in a row but not an extended run.Fergie then goes and buys Saha who in my opinion is more waste of money injuries or not when he could have bought Defoe for half the price.Money down the drain.Rant Over!

Reminds me of when we bought Taibi a few years back. He made so many gafs (even more than Roy Carroll) we quickly sold him back to Italy then all of a sudden he's a a great keeper. Oh well suppose it's just one of those things.

Don't think it was a Fergie gaff letting him go.

End of the day, Forlan could not handle the pressure of playing for United. Nothing to do with whether he had the ability or not.

If there was a mistake, it was not identifying a weak mentality before buying, but then that's not too easy to do.

Cobblers! did you ever hear the support the O/T crowd used to give him?? a striker isn't going to get a very high goal tally if his manager plays him for 3/7/8/11 minutes of a match is he??

ANOTHER bollock dropped by Fergie.... :nowords:

The way the lad banged in goals for Independiente and now Villarreal shows he has the talent. Yet Forlan couldn't score in his first 27 games for United. Now if Micheal Owen did the same with all his sub apperances this term, he'd be out the door for not being able to handle the pressure of playing for Real Madrid. Didn't happen because Owen has mental strength of a world class player.

Your judgement is obviously clouded by your hatred for United and Ferguson.

27 games that dont even amount to 90 mins lol , its a major major mistake the guy is top scorer in the best league in the world, he beat ronaldo, raul, etoo, edu, baptista .
he said it himself how can u show your real quality when u play 3 games in a row then your dropped for the next 5.

Right dozy arse, i'm a life-long UTD SUPPORTER, not some southern prawn sandwich eating ponce, and i always rated Forlan!!

Forlan NEVER HAD 27 full games, if he had played 27 games and put best part of 90 minutes in each without scoring then i would have questioned his ability.

Why refer to Owen? he's got nowt to do with this thread, if you knew anything about football you would understand there is a difference between "Prolific" and "World-class" strikers.

fuck me, i got you mixed up with some other abu. apologies.

I still stand by my comments. This guy did not score in 27 appearances (not starts, but never-the-less appearances) as a striker. In fact I remember this becoming some what of a joke. He's had no probs scoring before or after; therefore you'd say he has the capability. Players like Owen and Solskjaer have also had to put up with stints whereby they don't start many matches, yet they still are able to score a reasonable amount of goals when they do come on.

Which is why I mentioned Owen. See the connection?

If I was a manager looking to justify to the board adding someone like Rooney to a squad already including RvN, Saha, Smith, Solskjaer, and Forlan, I would not keep the unhappy player who was not scoring (m)any goals.

Point taken m8, but you know what Fergie is like when it comes to substitutions, Forlan played for under 10 minutes in many matches, and i would question the likes of Owen,RVN, and Henry to perform much better under the circumstances.

Forlan WAS happy to stay, Fergie gave him the elbow.

Dont start me off on "Sicknote" Saha, must have some scouse blood in him!

Care to name a striker that hasn't???

I'd rather have Forlan than Saha and Bellion.
