Black screen on xbox.

I got an xboxa month or two ago but have only opened it properly now. When the chip is disabled it works fine. When the chip is enabled with either bank the screen is just black and it won't load a (confirmed working on my other xbox) auto installer disk. Any one know what's up? My friend turned it on and tried to go on live (even though I have no live games!) and it updated the console like once but the chip was off and literally no games have been played on it. I'll send it back if it's broken but generally my service from him has been superb so I'm reluctant to think that's the problem.

Could be the dash has been updated .

Youll probably need to find a copy of slayers and reinstall the dash.

If slayers doesnt boot then try burning it on a different type of media.

I can definately say I am NOT on the ball, the f**king box wasn't even from him (doesn't matter who it is, I'll try and resolve the issue first)! I always order from him but on this occasion his site wouldn't work for me so I got it elsewhere. Sorry for being a tit everyone.
