You could sell it without the documents m8, but it will be worth quite a bit less then if you vic'd it and sold it with the logbook.
Punters aren't keen these days on buying motors without the relevant papers.

VIC test is £35,if the car was registered as a Cat C,you cannot get a log book without the test being done.
Also shows up on HPI check.
You could be in a whole lot of shit, selling a car, that you know was regged as a right off, without informing the buyer.

once you have the vic you can also have it mot'd at the same place just tell them when you ring for a vic. If you need a vic the log book comes back stamped saying "vehicle has been extensively repaired". most members of the public will run a mile at this, hence your motor being worth a lot less. Whereas if you bought a cat d or cat x all you need to do is apply for logbook (£19) - There is nothing stamped up.

But if you buy from bluecycle which i do then alot of the time if you chase them up for the logbook alot of the time they have it but obviously they would rather save on a stamp and an envelope and let you pay the dvla. hope this helps you lads.

No you can't m8, not if your a private seller.

Anyway...I also prefer to deal in the non recorded stuff and buy nearly all of my salvage from the car hire auctions. Some come very lightly damaged indeed.

These all come with the keys, the paperwork, the service pack etc.

We mainly sell ours straight to main dealers after repairing them.

I do buy a few direct from my insurance work providers, but these come regged so have to be good buys for us to take em on.

    Info Re: vic check

On the upside of this, if you do get the VIC check done you get the logbook freeJust be sure that when you fill in the V62 Form you tick the appropriate box at the bottom that says "The last registration Document was destroyed by the insurance company becuase the car is catagorised as C salvage" So I would personaly get it Vic checked and apply for the logbook as you will get more for the car if the buyer has to put no effort into it and can just get the car on the road.

Some post offices are still using the old forms that dont have this option at the bottom so print off you own from the link below.

Here are the appropriate links for the forms

    http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/forms/ap...0(vic%201).pdf

    http://www.dvla.gov.uk/forms/pdf/V62online.pdf

OH IF YOU SELL THE CAR WITHOUT DOCUMENTS BE SURE TO MAKE A RECEIPT WITH THERE ADDRESS AND TIME AND DATE SOLD. IF THEY GET A SPEEDING TICKET IT COMES BACK ON YOU! I KNOW I'VE GOT 3 POINTS ON MY LICENSE IM STILL TRYING TO GET RID OFF!

    Hope this is useful
