Help Needed Pc Going Blank

Could anyone help with a problem with pc?

I leave my pc running most of the day every now and then i go back to it and the screen has gone black i can not do anything with it and have to restart

sometimes when i first switch on the same happens as the O/S is loading up I click on my account and then it goes blank and i have to turn off and try again and it will work

could it be the BIOS?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Are you leaving it long enough after you have tried to 'wake' it?.. some PC's can take ages (Drives to fire up etc..), also look in control panel at your power options, it may be set so you have to press the power button once to wake it,, worth having a look round in power options anyway, try different settings.

checked 'Power options and have them set to 'never' for all in the power schemes my pc has just started doing this recently and i aint changed any settings so im thinking maybe some hardwear on its way out??

Hi,

Just nosin' in .... You did mention , Bios settings earlier, have you had a go at disabling the power managment in there ...?. thats if the bios gives that option.
They don't all do so.

& I would be be surprised if its an actual hardware problem?.

But then I'm often surprised!!!

cheque in your bios settings to see what is enabled for wakeup

I know it sounds weird but have you guys made sure your monitor cables arent bent or crimped?

My monitor kept going black and refreshing (Like it was trying to change resolution)... so after many driver reinstalls, bios tweaks, etc... I pulled the computer out and noticed the cable was crimped... I bought a new one for £20 and everything was fine...
