ADSL Extension Cable

Hi all,

i've installed ADSL Broadband back home for my mam.

The PC is in one room, the BT line another. The problem is that the Cable from the Microfilter to the Modem is only 1 metre and I need 5! So at the moment I have a Microfilter, BT Extension cord plugged into another Micro filter which works, until the phone is put down etc... then the modem disconnects from the Net! (really bad service she has, Homecall Broadband. You hav to tell it to 'connect' rather than it been on all the time??)

So can anyone point me in the right direction for an ADSL Microfilter extension cable, just one with 2 RJ11 male connectors 5 meters?

i had same problem mate.

i got a big ass 15m extension

ended up sticking a micro filter on each end.

i.e i got one into the extension and a phone plugged into that + the extension then on the ohter end of the extension is another filter that lets the phone in that room work :thumbs

i thought ADSL was connect anyway? thought it was cable that was 'always on'

i got my adsl acting like always on now cos the router dials the conncection while the pc is booting

I'm on www.f2s.co.uk adsl but my router must auto connect each time? I dont know?

Anyhow I got a 5m extension from Ebuyer £6 delivered. we'll try that.

Where did you get your auto connect script from?? was going to try and make one but if one is freeley available?

no where, just went into the admin settings in my router and it had connection options...

filled em in and now it boots and connects to the net while the pc is loading.

Bloody Homecall broadband, rubbish! but it will do for what they want.

Maplin do them in 5 & 10 metre lengths

Cheers mate, i've had to order it online so it get's delivered home to mam's. I can';t send them out to buy it, they'll end up with a charger fro a mobile phone or something?

most routers have a stay connected option where the router will dial out whenever it is turned on so doesnt matter if you have more than one pc on network

It's not on a network mate. No need for it to be now i've fled the nest.
