does sending a text abroad cost anymore than it would to someone here? ive got a freind whos in malaysia at the mo and we have been sending the occasional text, wondering if my bill is gonna come at the end of the month and im in for a shock!
I'm not too sure, but I think that it doesnt cost any more to send but it does to recieve them. I dont think o2 (contract anyhoo) charge to recieve them though. Your best bet would be to get in touch with your service provider to get confirmation on this.
i think its 50p to send them, but not too sure
I've been sending txts to my sis in Lesbos. I'm O2 contract and she's Orange contract. My bill hasn't shown any charge (inclusive allowance is used) but not sure if her replies are billed to her, but that wasn't your concern.
im on 02 contract too, no idea what my friend is on as she is actually living there and i presume shes on whatever networks they have.
My bill is online, is there a way to see your bill in an itemised way so i could check? ive had a look myself but kinda got lost in a circle of links
i texted my eldests phone in holland from my izi sim and it cost me 36c to send and him 70p to recieve
depends on the network mate, if ur on o2 it cost 12p to send if u have the internation option (free on o2 250 and above i think) otherwise 16p
if ur abroad and send a text to the uk it comes out of your message bundle as 3 units.
hope that helps, if not let me know what network your on and ill let you know.
You need a username & password. When you login you click on "view my bill" then "unbilled details" then "mobile details". You then see an itemised list of calls, texts and GPRS. My text list showed I wasn't being charged for foreign message sending ("online 100" contract).Originally Posted by {{909}}
When i was on vodafone a while back i text australia for 12p.
ive notcied mines the standard rate to text france or abroad in general
And it cost me 25.5p (plus vat?) to receive them, but well worth it.Originally Posted by Shambles

Hey, I asked for the texts, remember? And at £1.60 per minute for a voice call it was much better value!Originally Posted by Shambles

Im on o2 and i used to text america quite often, pretty sure it used to cost me 20p a text, unsure if it costs the person to receive them though!!!
If your friend is on a UK mobile they have taken abroad, it costs the same as if they were still in UK.
A cheap way to 'text' foreign mobiles through email (15p) here: http://www.liquiddrop.com/
