    Default trojan

hi peeps! wondered if any can help a friend of mine out. tried myself but ended up looking foolish so shes not to impressed with me!

anyway this 'lady' for want of a better word! has been having problems with her pc so i have installed NAV and found a number of things which nortons has deleted however there is still two trojans that nortons says it is unable to access and therefore repair fails!
the trojans are... trojan.startpage.m and download.trojan
reading through the posts i figure i should boot in safe mode and run nav again, hopefully they havent started and it will deal with them. but i am unable to use the search facility on explorer as when i try to open it it just does nothing systen idle is using 98% cpu and for a minute or two computer is in accessible, is the trojan stopping the search openeing? and how do i get round it? if i need to do a manual delete?

one more thing i have ran hijack this and got a log, did this on my computer one or two things were quite obviously not supposed to be there so i figured that it would be the same with her's its not!! the log is, i think, quite long and i was wondering if i posted it would someone be able to advise me on what i should delete or may even be causing a problem, some stuff i figure i should obviosly keep its what to ditch im a l ittle worried about!!

    thanks guys!

Hi, I had problem last week with trojan horses and everything else. I down loaded a program called xoftspy, I think the web site is www.xoftspy.com don't get fooled by the name spy, this program found everything, it removed them and I have no problems now. The only thing was I had to by the licence code, only about £25 but well worth it. I also down loaded a FREE anti-virus program, it is only free for private users. It updates daily and it works very well, www.avast.com register it and get code but it is FREE.
    Good Luck
