Default Repair to my car bodged.. Need advice.

    Right,

First off, this is not a legal question (yet) so hopefully i've put it in the right question.

Ok, I need advice from people who have been thru similar.

    Right, long story short:

Approved bodyshop have bodged my car beyond belief.

I have a list as long as your arm how much they have utterly fucked up my car and infact they've managed to fuck it up more than before they had it.

I've given them 3 chances to fix it (including the original work).

I am now taking the car back off them tomorrow (still fucked) as they are clearly muppets and the insurance company are sending down an "independent" inspector to inspect the workmanship..

My concerns are how "independent" is a company that's pockets are lined by my insurance company?

I've asked them to have it inspected by BMW and they have said "BMW are not independent" WTF?

Has anyone had a positive outcome to having their cars independantly inspected?

Obviously the garage owners will be friendly with the assesor as they will have met on many occassions.

I would say that the assessors I know would slate my work if I had done it poorly, as its their job on the line at the end of the day.

I'd give them a chance to do a report on it, but with you present. If your not happy with it, then try someone like the AA.

I do quite a bit of reworking from a major insurance companys bodyshop, there assessors are fine about paying for reworking.
If your not happy, take it to another garage and submit an estimate to them of the costing.

They generally let your chosen garage do the necessary work involved without much fuss.

Why dont you m8 take it to a BMW garage and get them to check it over themselves and get a detailed report about what their finding are....I am pretty sure they will back up your claim if its that bad...Iam not sure exactly what your problem is but my brother had put his car into a dealership and they were replacing the rear bumper and the difference in colour was unbelieveable, but there reply was that the paint work was affected by the direct sun-light resulting in the match not being exact:nono I told him to tell them to go n fook themselves and not except it but the silly bastard did:annoyed:
