Default How to Fix Corrupt files??

Is it possible to fix corrupt files?

I just had the worst day with my computer and lost a heck of a lot of stuff (software, which i'm installing again) - thing is, some of the files (non program files such as vids, text files, images etc) have become corrupt and i really would like to be able to access them.

When ever i open them i get the message:

    "Access Denied"

or if i try to run exe files:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the items."

The files where files that were in the "desktop folder" which sometimes after a Windows XP install gets deleted but this time remained as i created a different user with different settings.

Is there anyway i can fix these corrupt files???

Presuming you're logged in with Administrator rights, you'll need to take ownership back of the folders/files :

Have a look at this for details
