    Default Sharp GX30 Dismantle Instructions

    Hi,

A friend has managed to put their GX30 thru' a full wash cycle. At the moment it is still wet, so I am hoping to take it to pieces and dry it out. If it was a Nokia I would have no problem, but the sharp looks a pain to do.

So has anybody got any instructions to help? or maybe just some good advice.

    Thanks in advance.

My advice is to take it to someone who has an ultrasonic bath m8. If it has water/liquid inside it then it could rot the pins on the components, simply just drying it out will not get rid of small particals of liquid that may be under the components.

No problem with the ultrasonic bath as I have one. The problem I have is dismantling the damn thing.

The problem area is the top of the flip, the one with the screens in it. Have removed the screws and almost the whole of the cover comes off, but for the very top. If I pull/twist too hard I fear breaking the clips. Just need to know where the clips are and how they are clipped together.

    Lol, it is called

    "CHUNKHEAD”S
    Tried & Tested
    “Guide to Water Damage”

    Which actually states,

    "You will need the following:
     Torx 6 screwdriver
     Methylated Spirits
 A small container (Plastic food tub with lid) or shallow dish
     Washing-up liquid
 A toothbrush (Not your everyday one)
 A small towel or flannel
     Hairdryer
     Bowl"

I have personally seen more handsets damaged using these tools/equipment than actually repaired. Well actually I have never seen any repaired.
