From BBC;
Celtic are close to signing Poland international goalkeeper Artur Boruc and are also hoping to get a "yes" from Japanese star Shunsuke Nakamura.
Boruc, 25, was due to fly to London on Tuesday to meet up with the Hoops, who have begun a week-long training camp in Buckinghamshire. And Reggina have put them in pole position for the signing of Nakamura.
The Bhoys have agreed a deal that would see Boruc join initially on loan for a year.
That has the option of becoming permanent with Boruc's club, Legia Warsaw, valuing him at around £600,000.
He will join up with fellow countryman Maciej Zurawski, whose protracted £2million switch from Wisla Krakow was completed earlier in the month.
Boruc is his country's second choice goalkeeper for the national team and, like prolific striker Zurawski, dreams of one day signing for Barcelona.
Should personal terms be agreed, Boruc would become Hoops boss Gordon Strachan's fourth signing since succeeding Martin O'Neill, with Mo Camara and Jeremie Aliadiere also having been added to the ranks.
Strachan had been keen on teaming up again with Antti Niemi, the goalkeeper he had signed while in charge of Southampton.
But so far the two clubs have been unable to agree a fee for the 33-year-old Finland international, valued by the Saints at more than £2million.
Boruc would fill the gap left by the departure of Scotland international Robert Douglas to Leicester.
Strachan also has Magnus Hedman as an experienced alternative between the sticks but it understood that the Swede is more likely to accept a pay-off to leave than carry on at Parkhead.
Scotland international David Marshall, 20, is the other goalkeeper at the club.
Nakamura, meanwhile, had been quoted as saying that he preferred a move to Spain rather than Scotland.
But his current club Reggina believe that Nakamura will snub Deportivo La Coruna and Atletico Madrid to join Celtic.
Reggina press officer Daniele Rindone said: "We are discussing a price between £2million and £2.75million and we are close to agreeing a fee.
"Our president Lillo Foti will speak with their chief executive (Peter Lawwell) and it is possible that they will come to an agreement for the player to join Celtic.
"There are also two Spanish clubs interested in signing the player - Deportivo La Coruna and Atletico Madrid - but I would say Celtic are in first place to sign him.
"We have a good working relationship with them and they would be our choice and they also appear to be the first choice of Shunsuke Nakamura.
"It is possible now that it will go through quite quickly."
