Sigma 170-500 170-500mm APO for Canon

i am thinking of getting a Sigma 170-500 APO for my 350d but i was thinking there must be some where in the uk that is saleing them 2nd hand as geting them new is lots of pounds so b4 i go and pay for a new one can any give me a link or a phone number to a 2nd hand shop with in the uk

dont forget, you get cheap OR quality glass - never both

Make sure if you get the lens second hand that it works correctly with your 350D as older Sigma lenses can have compatability problems with newer Canon cameras.

Canon have never licensed their lens mount protocol to any other manufacturer so Sigma reverse engineered it and did a crap job. I know from personal experience because I had to send back one of my Sigma lenses to get it re-chipped before it would work properly with my 10D.

cheers for the help guys it not for me but for my wife so i do not know a lot about them but she said this is the one she would like so .......not looking good for a 2nd hand one might have to bye this new and that is going to suck

What's the quality of the sigma lenses like generally then? I've seen this lens on ebay i'm interested in buying

It says it's compatible with the 350D which I have but before i take the plunge would be good to know if the lens quality's decent.
