Cheers Rhino, probably saved me a grand. Read further down and it got a bit off topic, but the link with the Tiny plasma was enough to set the alarm bells ringing

I was lucky, I went down, clutching my cash, and they hadn't arrived yet, from another branch - told they'd save one for me, but I decided to drive to the other branch ..

I had found out about the lack of HD ability by then, and was told that the stores were 'supposed' to display a notice to that effect, but neither of the stores I called at had .. !!

Anyway, it'll be back in stores by November, and at only £800 ..
Might just 'jump in' then and forget the High Def .. ??

    Procode ..

A quality panel using the right conections and running the right resolution will give you a fantastic picture even if it downscaling and its native resolution is 852 x 480. If you don't require a HD panel why bother spending the extra cash?

Go to a proper AV room and check out the Panasonic 7 Series - you may be a little suprised at the results from the panel that 'only' provides 852 x 480 and a price that is very close to these plasmas being sold at shops like Aldi. The difference in quality is very apparent.

If your going to spend the better part of a grand on a plasma screen you may find a few hundred extra on top could make all the difference and get yourself a panel that gives a far superior picture.
