    Default Interview stories

come on guys im sure someone out there has had an interview they would rather forget or on the othe rhand may not want to forgot.

examples such as during your interview something happens out of the ordinary or which pisses you off. Was at a interview few months back and i went in at 12:00, 12:05 the fire alarm went off, had to treck all the way down to the assemble point, waited there for 10 minutes to find it was a false alarm. went back in, after beeing told someone set it off on purpose. interview continued at 12:20, within a matter of seconds the fcuker went off again, ended up she looked through my record of achievment etc and conducted the rest round the back near the smoke area.

I was well pis'ed off by the end of it and so was she i think.

Slightly different slant on an interview story, I was the one doing the interviewing rather than being the interviewee.
I was interviewing a young lady who's CV stated that she had completed a Degree, the very same degree that I was in my last year off, and just about to start my second semmester.
So I aksed her about the degree and told her I was doing the same course etc. She re-itterated that she had completed the course that summer, as stated in her CV.

What do I find a few weeks later when I turn up to one of the lessons for the Planning support systems Module? Her sat in the fucking classroom, and it transpired that she had actually failed that module and was re-sitting it, and therefore had not passed her fucking degree the lying whore!

Just before I had to go for an interview I had to kill a little time so I thought I would fill up the car for the journey home to save doing it afterwards.. Filled the tank and then the fuckin hose blew back on me and soaked me from chest to kness in petrol, I had 15 minutes to interview and stunk to high heaven. I bit the bullet and turned up still (Came along way, didn't want to waste my time), got some well funny looks of the receptionist and I had to explain what happened to a few people who sniggered.. 'bastards - think of me next time it happens to you matey' I thought to myself.
Luckily geezer doing interview had a sense of humour, he pulled out a fag and said "You got a light?"

Another time, I was interviewing people for a technician vacany I had open and a mate asked me to interview his brother for the job as he was 'shit hot' with computers, so I obliged. His Bro was about 18, I asked him about experience etc. and he said "Well, I can fix PC's, and I can chip Playstations, and things", I asked him to elaborate... he looked at me in an obvious way that told me he didn't know what the word meant, so I re-phrased it and asked him what he had actually done with fixing PC's. He said "well, you know, take out hard drives and put another one in, and things"... fucking hard work he was and no, he didn't get the job.

I once interviewed a bloke from South Africa for a support job, one of the questions i asked was "Tell me about a time you found yourself in a difficult situation, what happened, and what did you do to manage it?" (Before we go any further, the question was in relation to difficult situations at work)
He starts telling me about a time he had to go and fetch his brother and his girlfriend in Cape Town late one night, and on the way back a car pulls up next to him whcih looked like it wanted to race, so he played along and diced the guy for about a mile, the other car turned off onto another road, and he thought that was it, couple of minutes later the same car came screaming past him, swayed in front of him forcing him to stop, a black guy got out the drivers side of the car, came up and stood in front of his car bonnet with a gun pointing at him. He went on, quite relaxed saying he then knew he had to make a very quick decision, should he ram the bastard into the back of his own car (possibly allowing the guy to get a shot off and hit one of them, or should he just slip the car into reverse and get the f**k out of there as fast as he can. he opted for the latter

Well the only story i have is for my first interview, it was to work in a toy store, sat down moody lady went through stuff asked questions, at then end she said i did not have the right attributes (not sure i knew what that meant then) to work in a toy store. The very next day i had an insterview at another toy store, got the job. Happy to say i ended up as a games tester/player for a few years.

Just goes to show, they are not always right.

Just been for an interview in London, i was told i did not come accross as having the skills to tell people what to do (CAD Management role) all my freinds and colleges i have told laugh, saying i am a bossy Git, stange they are now all telling me that, well i suppose i am leaving.

All that sounds crap in comprison, sorry to put a donwer on it!

    Cheers.....Q
