I once interviewed a bloke from South Africa for a support job, one of the questions i asked was "Tell me about a time you found yourself in a difficult situation, what happened, and what did you do to manage it?" (Before we go any further, the question was in relation to difficult situations at work)
He starts telling me about a time he had to go and fetch his brother and his girlfriend in Cape Town late one night, and on the way back a car pulls up next to him whcih looked like it wanted to race, so he played along and diced the guy for about a mile, the other car turned off onto another road, and he thought that was it, couple of minutes later the same car came screaming past him, swayed in front of him forcing him to stop, a black guy got out the drivers side of the car, came up and stood in front of his car bonnet with a gun pointing at him. He went on, quite relaxed saying he then knew he had to make a very quick decision, should he ram the bastard into the back of his own car (possibly allowing the guy to get a shot off and hit one of them, or should he just slip the car into reverse and get the f**k out of there as fast as he can. he opted for the latter
