It wasnt a great night for us, but there were a few good things to take from the match.

Emre and Parker were good, and worked hard for 90 minutes.
Taylor was solid at the back.
Ameobi is getting some fitness so we have more than one proper striker at the club.

Now i am grasping at straws really...

Agreed that emre looks very good easily the best player on the pitch parker look OK ish but ameobbi is absolute shite I wouldnt even call him a striker, he reminds me a bit of Kanu all legs and clumsy, what you need is Michael Owen but theres just know way he will want to go to Newcastle i mean after all whats there for him?

The inter two bob cup is hardly Europe. Only 1 team in the North East in Europe Proper...... In fact only 1 club further North than Boro in Europe this season too and there scottish!

Looks like were left holding the flag....

Owen will go as they are the only club in for him so he doesnt have a choice. Who is to say that we would have played in the champ league for Real this season anyway so all this about 'must be playing in europe' is a load of crap. If he wants regular football, he will have to leave and Newcastle are the only team interested.

I personally think going to newcastle will be a good move for owen, ok he wont have european cup football this season, so what.

He will get a first team place each and every game he is fit, him and shearer will be a great partnership and when shearer is not playing he will be good with and for ameobi.

If he went to Man U he will have to battle against Rooney and Van Nistelroy who is on fire atm! And they also have Luis Saha and Alan Smith for him to fight for a place with. I also think at Arsenal would be a bad choice if they decide to go for him, he wont get the jusice he deserves on that squad with Henry still in good form. And i really cant see him going to Cheaski or back to Liverpool.

However another team people havenot mentioned is the Boro, i think hell be just as good there as he would for the toon, and there is the bonus of European Football. Him and Jimmy Flloyd would be a strong strike force, but i really cant see that happening.

    Cheers

Are you saying that as a hint that you would like Viduka? You can have him!

As for Owen, I think Man U will be his destination. As for fighting for his place against Rooney and Van Miss-a-lot, he'll play more games than he did last season. Man U play different formations for different types of opposition, they miss a quality 3rd striker. Not saying Owen will be 3rd choise but each club should have 4 top quality strikers. Smith is more of a wide man so he'll never threaten the other 3, as for saha, more like sa-who?

Owen to Man U for me. Viduka can get his fat lazy ass to Newcastle, and Boro will always have crap infront of goal! and midfield! and defence! and dont get me started about Schwarzer! but at the end of the day, we'll finish above the other 'North East' teams

Dont worry you can keep Viduka

Reports now saying Lyon now putting bid in for Owen.

also that Newcastle are olny club in England who have put a bid in for owen in the last 2 weeks, and real are happy with it. I recon it wont be till the end of augest until owen decided where to go.

As for Newcastle's situation, looks like we could be getting Coco from inter to strengthen up the back, we do need 2 strikers in my oppinion, hints that souness is upping the bid for anelka are all ready being shown.

and if im totally honest i dont think owen is good enough for the current man u squad, rooney is tonnes better than he is and nitelroy is back in good form, and i really dont think he will get on very well with alex fergesun, and i recon beckham could warn him away from working with fergesun after what happened with him.

In the end im not exspecting anything for the toon and owen, whatever happenes will happen, if we get him great news, if we dont, its no biggy

    Cheers

I have not liked him either, but emre, parker, faye and boumsoung (i think souness bought him in) have been very good signings imo. And if he manages to bring in coco and owen, only not qualifying for europe will be his undoing.

I think people are losing sight of the fact that Newcastle were playing last years Champions League Semi Finalist, they are a class act

Now you have Robbie Elliott that wouldn't get into most Division 1 first team playing left back, he was the major problem for newcastle last night

Emre was class, Parker is gunna prove to be a great player for Newcastle, and with Coco, Owen they could do great things this seasons

But souness ffs dont buy Owen & Anelka, they never clicked at Liverpool, why?, because there the same type of Striker, it's the same problem Shearer and Ferguson had, Both going for the same ball.

Newcastle will overtake Arsenal this season, thats quite bold for me to say but I believe that, but only if they get coco and Owen

I recon we will definately get Coco,

however now it seema that Jenas is going (If tomorrows back pages of the Sun have any truth to them)
apparantly he's fallen out with Souness! and is gonna put a transfer request in for him. TBH i recon hell go to Arsenal if he does go, with the money we make from him i think well get a better midfielder than jenas and also a good backup striker for Shearer. But we definately need a partner for Shearer!

I watched the match with my black and white daft brother, thoroughly enjoyed seeing them go out of the two bob cup. Emre was not class, he was just a little better than the other shite you had out.

Cant wait to see how badly beaten they get on opening day with their mickey mouse back four. yeehaa
