    Great thread. Also gave me plenty of ideas for my own diet!

    Also I'm not really a fish eater as I hate seeing food not covered in something. I prefer it to have breadcrumbs or batter. So if anyone has suggestions of what I should put to hide the fact that I'm eating a fish that is nearly looking at me hehe...

    Please help!

    Tam - salmon steaks, tuna steaks etc etc - don't have eyes lol

    Or, you could make some white sauce and put that over it - easy to do... or make your own breadcrumbs... leave some wholemeal bread for a few days so it's hard (but not stale) then chuck it in a food processor with plenty of pepper and stuff - coat the fish in a beaten egg, dip in breadcrumbs - cook as desired.

    Great Thread Guys

    Some excellent websites and advice. I have been on the change of lifestyle now since October 2004 and have lost over 3 stone, it has all come off slowley so less chance of it going back on. I found just eating sensibly cutting out the crap and excersising 3 times a week on the treadmill and bike done it for me.

    I also am not a big fan of fish, seasame seeds or sunflower seeds. I do like Peanuts just plain ordinary peanuts in a pack with raisans, are they ok for you? i thought if i eat those as a snack it will stop me snacking on junk?

    Peanuts are very good for you m8, most nuts are (although strctly speaking it is a legume and not a nut). They contain high levels of essentials fats as well as a whole range of other essential nutrients. Just don't eat them salted.

    What about raisins? I have been eating like 4 packs of them a day to help vercome that sugar addiction of mine :whistle

    Well 4 packs is obviously too much, although it would depend on how big the packs are. If you buy the 'Giant Mega Super-Size Family Bucket' of raisins from Tesco's value range then you're probably eating too many.

    The fact you are getting your sugar intake from a raw source rather than refined sugar is always good but unless you need the extra energy because you workout etc then try and eat less of them.

    yeah - started this routine while i was in UK - came back to US 2 weeks ago and it all went pear shaped

    im in UK now for 2 weks - kickin back into touch again and will carry it thru

    fast food and home delivery is the killer - im getting postive again

    It all comes down to convienience I suppose, healthy life styles are a lot easier if you have a reasonable amount of time on your hands but when you are on the go and busy it's much easier to go for the junk food option. Try those Innocence smoothies while you're back, they're very tasty, contain no additives or preservatives, they have next to no fat, are filling and bloody overpriced!

    Sorry Tam been away! They're £1.75 (250ml) each which is a bit strong really but I got the boll*ck-ache with peeling and chopping fruit for making my own, and it's a convenience thing too. One smoothie contains the equivalent of the 5 recommended portions of fruit for one day. Apart from the Vanilla one (3.g), they all have less than 0.1g per 100g fat content.

    im back on track - down to 258 from 266 last week

    249 was where i started to go pear shaped so wont be long before i can get back to goals

    Update:
    OK after going all pear shaped - I started again on March 1st - Starting weight 267llbs

    Im now down to 249 llbs

    still not excerisized yet but given up booze and eat only white meat and no bread/pasta

    its going well - first main target is still 240llbs - then ill start the gym

    Do you find that it's harder to keep your diet when you are in the States? Obviously portion sizes etc. out there are bigger.

    diet is hadere in the states however its easier to excerisize and be motivated as everyone where i live is a model lol
