    Hi m8

Alawys nice to see people from other countries, they bring a different perspective & veiws to the forums.

Have a look through the rules, FAQs & the stickies at the top of each section before posting and you`ll do just fine.

Welcome aboard the good place Digital Forums, more a second home than a place on the internet!

    Good luck.

In the UK we use glassfiber for making boats I think you are refering to Fiber-optics

I`m getting upset now, you`re making me jealous!!!

I just wish we had that over here!

Perhaps I should move to Holland!

Judging by your replies & sense of humour you`ll do really well on here! :thumbs :thumbs

Welcome to digital forums zd7340ea. Out of interest does your nickname stand for anything?

Sounds like you are in an interesting sector, I did some 3D modelling/visualisation in Uni and I loved it a lot...if you ever need some labour done (sorry had to do it!)

I hope you like it on here :thumbs

We called it fiber optics when it was new in the 80-ties. Now it's just : glasvezel (in dutch) but we also say fat-pipe sometimes.
Our language changes much faster than yours. Approx. 10% of our words are now actually english.

it's a HP laptop, there is a sticker always in front of me on the keyboard. I used it as a nick when I first joined a forum. Overhere it's kind of rule not to change nicks on different forum. Real name is Frits, that's with an S not like the germanZ
    I don't (3D) model myself, I'm the commercial guy
    I hope it's allowed...

Well humour is not much appreciated here by the mods and some of the users as I experienced the first day. Intollerant I would say.

Actually it now seems to me that this is possibly not realy a nice forum.
Promoting alcohol abuse is OK but don't mention a Canabis plant. Don't try to have fun or social interaction...
I had very rude and unnecessary hostile reactions, even from moderators. Don't know what upsets them?

And all these avatars and signatures I see here are very very macho and some violent.

Hmmm I don't know what to think of it...

    I'll just watch a while I think

Oh you met marco then did you

Just the goodnight thread was a little pointless for the D&D, there is a section you can post that kind of stuff in, it's in the forum called 'shitfaced and lovin' it.'

Don't let a little moaning put you down :tongue We all start some pointless threads in our time... Except me that is :whistle

yeah right, all well and fine but Moderators like these ones...
I mean they should represent the kind of communication that a forum wants, right?
It's obvious that I'm new and don't speak the (slang) language like them.
So why can't they tell me in a decent way that I did something wrong.? Did I do something wrong, I wonder.
They seem fascists to me. Sorry for that word but I don't know the proper english word for what I mean to call them (someone that abuses power)

OK well here's a little education on our most seen mods/admin for you.

Spencer - Power mad, gets withdrawal symptoms when he's on torrents.

Marco - Very crabbit at times, seemed to skip that phase inbetween childhood and old age where people are laid back.:tongue

ABCman - Hates anthing to do with Tony Blair and being PM'ed.

4me2 - Pretty laid back about stuff and has a good temperment, probably the admin you would go to if you want something.

Raptor - Site owner, pays ALOT out of his own pocket and is a good guy if you dont act like a fud ((cough))Porthos((cough))

Mr Olympia - 'Welcome aboard m8, nice to see you here. Have a browse through the Rules and the Stickies in each section you visit and enjoy your stay. '
Morph - Fine guy, everyone is jealous of him because of his legendary car collection :tongue
Little John - Seems to have endless connections. Ie if your talking about the music industry, then he prolly knows a guy who works for EMI. Or his uncle is the director of the FBI...

    Don`t be put off!

All newbies get a little bit of stick!

As you say you`ll "just watch a while!". Good idea then you`ll get a feel for this forum!

Believe it or not this forum is one of the best I`ve found.

Spend a little time reading some of the posts & you`ll see it isn`t all about being "macho" etc..

There is a lot of help on DF.

At the end of the day the choice is your own & no one can make you stay!

Take a step back and look around the forum!

Humour is a big plus on DF, but if you post a humourous post/reply you have to accept humourous posts/replies in return! Some may not be what you expect!

    Good luck!
