David Unsworth

The Blades have just signed David Unsworth, beating off competition from another few sides. Just wondered what people thought to him?

Always seemed a decent player to me in the past, but perhaps other people who've seen him week in week out have a more qualified view. Particularly Everton fans (obviously).

Unsworth is a good defender but plays too many long balls and gets turned inside a fair bit

A good signing nevertheless. He'd be Rangers' best player

From what i have heard last night Neil Warnock should get a medal!!

The Cresswell thing was a cover story for the signing of the 1 and only Marcus Bent, now u can believe me ot not i dont really care but i was laughing my head off when i heard Cresswell was at the Lane on the radio today, i knew that he was not there and he never was ever going to be it was a set up by Warnock and David Kelly to keep Leeds of the scent of Marcus.

He will sign on a 3yr contract for £925.000 rising to 1.2m should we go up, he also on £9.000 a week. deal done by friday.

QUALITY TACTIC BY WARNOCK EVEN THOUGH I HATE HIM I MUST TAKE MY HAT OFF TO HIM!

we had Unsworth on loan at Ipswich last season and he did pretty well for us. mind you its not hard to improve our defence. chipped in with a debut goal too

i thought he was an alright player, hes getting on a bit now but still good for the championship league one clubs as he can also offer a lot of experience

I think Unsworth will be a good signing for Blades, he's exactly the sort of defender who'll be solid enough to help a promotion push considerably, but would also make a good backup/squad player in the Prem should the promotion bid be successfull.

I don't think Bent is good enough to cut it in the Premier League either. Sure he plays in that league and is therefore a 'premiership player' but so is 'Tomas Repka':coffee:


There's no way he'd be transferred for £900k though. Too cheap even for a championship striker.

And with regards to the thread title - Unsworth is a fat waster who takes a good penalty - wait till Carlos gets hold of him:whistle

Unsworth - on his day he could be great - my man of the match in the 95 cup final - played Mark Hughes out of tha game at a time when Hughes was still a pretty intimidating player (f*ck me that's going back a bit)... at other times he could be useless....

He didn't look too out of place last season at Ipswich so should do alright.
