Double Dragon Forever - First Public Demo

For a while now me and a small team of people have been working on an un-official sequel to arcade games Double Dragon & Double Dragon II. We are ignoring part 3, because we all thought it was crap. Thats mainly why we made this game.

This demo still has many glitches, for example the enemies animation for climbing isn't finished yet so try not to laugh too much as they slide up the ladders. The women make the same noise as the men when they die. There's still a few other bugs too. Oh, and there's no splash when you fall into the water.

The midi music will not feature in the final release. This is just a small demo to show you how it's all going so far.

There are two fighting styles. 1 from DD1 & the other from DD2.

If you hold down jump, kick & punch at the same time whilst standing, the style swaps over to the DD2 style. You shoul get "II" above your energy bar (see second screen shot).

The default controls are the cursor keys to move around, commer for left attack, full stop for jump & / for left attack.

Please note that you will need a recent version of Direct X.

Nice effort mate. Still early days, your going to have to tweak the AI so that all the enemies don't use the same parameters when moving toward you as at the moment they move like a swarm of bees.

One question, why did you release it with so many bugs? Why not wait till its more complete?

Doesn't work for me at all, it loads up, i get the credits come up then title screen asks me to press a key, i do. i can see a flicker of the game then it crashes out

Firstly, if you get any errors then download this and extract it into the same folder where you are holding the game.

The main reason we've decided to release a demo now is so we can see how many compatibility problems we are going to face. The game isn't due to be finished until just before Christmas, all bugs will be dealt with by then. I hope.

If so, are we ever going to see target:renegade remiX ?

Yes it is the same version. I'll pass any error messages on to the programmer, I'm only working on the graphics so I'm not really much help with the technical stuff.

Target; Renegade is still coming and should be complete in about a months time. The first programmer gave up, the second vanished. Thankfully I've found someone else who is a lot more reliable.
