These rarly give problems unless the data is corrupted inside the eeprom.
try writing to it, if that fails i'll send you a dump file for your radio.
thanks jibes thats what i thought but i have tryed another 2 units and they are the same, checked probe connections etc all seams fine i just seam to recall a post on this subject and i thought you might have to remove eeprom and read it of circuit thanks
You probably have connection difficulties with the probe not aligning with the chip pins. Switch off the power to the decoder and power up the radio. The standby led on the decoder should be on. If not try to reposition rhe probe and push down on the chip to make contact. I find the pins on th probe after a bit of use receed into the plasic moulding sockets and have to be pushed forward with long nose pliers.
thanks for advice i am postive i am getting a good connection on chip probe is working fine on other sets the only problem is clarion pod d i dont understand about what you say about standby light on decoder i dont see one i am still learning but am quite confident i am doing things right i have checked everything over and am puzzeled
i am curious if the wiring is right i have from pin 1 red pink white brown and the other side blue green yellow black can you confirm this is right?
