I have recently got an xbox, I was basically being a prat and started playing with the settings it was running executer 2.6 / evox / avalaunch, however the fan was only ever running at below 25% and the box was occasionally freezing in the menu and games and i was unable to change any setting to do with the fan, but being a smart a*se i noticed a setting restore eeprom and yes i selected it the box immediately shut down on restart the eject button flashes green once then flashing red which if i read correctly is either an hardware failure or corrupted eeprom (judging by events prior to the error, it is the eeprom) - The unit still ejects if this makes any difference.

Please help, can this be resolved easily at home or do i need it repairing by someone who with the know how and if so can anyone recommend anyone.

right first of all sounds like a corrupt bios
secondly what version x-brick do u have?
and have you tried slayers evox forum in the bios section this will tell you how to re-flah your brick

I have the v1.6b crystal

It sounds like he's overwritten his eeprom with a blank one.
Not sure with executer chips (I have xeniums) but with a xenium you can restore an eeprom from a file. You would need to know what version of xbox you have to restore a correct image.

Good luck with it mate, I think it should be fixable.

A 1.6, get searching, check xbox-scene, the exectuter forums and possible the xenium forums, look for info about restoring a blanked eeprom.

OK I think you'll need an xecuter 3 and this info from xbox-scene forums

Flash "flashbios 3.0.3unauthorized" to your modchip. It contains eeproms for all box versions, and will allow you to reflash your eeprom with a generic one. The option to update eeprom is right on the boot screen

how did you sort it mate?

Did not have anyway to program chip, so was advised to take it to a stall on bowlers, they looked at it took 10 minutes and did not charge.

Will not post name of the stall incase it offends, but if anyone wants the info PM me
