Default Need some info on London

    hi
i`m off to London on Sunday with the wife and kids, just for a day out and also a meeting at tea time.
i was wonderering if any one could give us a few pointers on which line to use to get to the main attractions like tower bridge and house of parliaments etc
we`re only be there from 10am to 5pm, then we`ll be coming back home on 10pm train.
Not looking to spend a load of money , more just to see the sites and have a wonder about.
we`ll be arriving at kings cross to start with.
wouldn`t mind somewhere to get something nice to eat as well, not the ritz
all pointers will be appreciated but i can`t check back till saturday night so it`ll be a quick look and then getting on the train armed with your advice
    thanks
    Oh f@ck it!

Get out at Green Park (Piccadily Line) and walk throught the park to Buckingham Palace. Then walk down towards the London Eye, past Whitehall and Horseguards Parade (and Trafalger Sq if you want). Then turn right towards Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliment...

That is a nice route. As for eating, well you could try China Town if you like Chinese food.

The kids would love Hamleys (massive toy shop). That's on Regents Street and can be reached by getting the Victoria Line to Oxford Circus. (This area also good for shopping). Piccadilly Circus is also a 3 minute walk from Hamleys.

And if you're in that area at lunch time I would recommend Bodeans as a place to eat. http://www.bodeansbbq.com/

    They do fantastic Ribs.

Avoid the crappy steak houses that you see everywhere.

You should definitely go on the London Eye. Book your tickets online today to ensure you get on there quickly. http://www.londoneye.com/

i went to london on wednesday with the intension of going on the london eye but the queues were HUUUUUUUGGGGEEEE so take ZX7Rs advice and book before you go. Also along the river bank where the eye is there are lots of street performers that you and the kids will enjoy im sure.

if he took your advise, he's probably still in Hamleys , either that or couldn't afford the trip home

Hamleys is quality for kids, it says a lot when last time I went in I had no intentions of buying anything. My dad however came out with one of those ghost bubble machines that they had just started selling .
