this thing the government was on about regarding buying your first home?

im a first time buyer and im on a avergae wage (wage is shit in wales) but i remember they were saying something about a scheme taht if you want a to buy a new house they give you half the mortage or something then you pay it back when you sell it or you can buy shares back slowely

any one know if or where i can find any info on this? i have searched google for ages and cant find nothing

Ealing Counil does this scheme ..but i cant remember whats it called, basically they will pay upto 30% of the house and when/if you sell the house you give them 30% back i cant remember the exact details but i will post of what i know tomorrow when im back home

is that whats called shared ownership? some private landlords do this on some of there properties.

The goverment mentioned it in there last budget that they will give you a proportion of the money for a share in the house. When you can afford it, you buy there share back at a slightly inflated rate(1 or 2%) As far as I know, it was just something that was coming in the budget and has never actually happened yet. Will probably happen just before the next election. Bastards!

Yeah I think it's due to arrive - you could try the WDA mate, give them a ring and ask about it. There's also proposed billing that all new housing developments must allocate a % of the new houses to first time buyers only at a reduced price. Add to that the raising of the stamp duty minimum and you should be okay - wish the bastards had have done this 2 years ago when I was buying mine, and saved me fucking 15 grand.
