ide ata133 pci card
i added a pci card so i could add 3 extra hard drives to my pc, all is recognised ok but the access to the drives is so slow any one know whats wrong
cabled as follows:
master 0/1 hd
slave 0 hd
Im pulling my hair out with this its running like a 386 now

If i remember some cards use the CPU to do the work and you machine can end up running slow. I have 2 of them running in a pc with a P3 733 and it isnt too bad but it just runs windows server my FTP site and shares the drives.
the pc is useable but I dont that much.

make sure DMA is enabled
